Be still and color. Coloring works to bring us into the present moment of savoring the simple pleasures of life. That's probably why I never stopped coloring.
I highly encourage it as a way of decelerating and having some fun. It's been one of our favorite family affairs no matter the age of our children. We're even talking about planning a ladies' coloring night out with my missional community group.
Now that it’s being touted as a great stress reliever (and it is), society has given many adults permission to rediscover coloring and carry their coloring books on vacation and everywhere else — so coloring is cool again (for adults). Children already know its power to soothe and engage the creative and curious soul.
I'm delighted that many are discovering this as a means of attending to their souls (as well as their self-care). And it is for this reason that I've written and designed a Soul Care Coloring Notebook & Planner. It will be included in each Soul Care Kit — coming in September.
I'm sharing some of the first draft pages for beta testing. I'd love to get your feedback to help as I create a tool that integrates "a little soul in your goals". It features scripture, devotional thoughts using Lectio Divina, hymnal coloring postcards, nature pictures to color in, to name a few.
So break out your markers, crayons, or colored pencils and go to town! Here’s a look at a sample. We have so much in store for women who are loved by Jesus and are serious about taking custody of their soul.
(Weekly planner pages will be revealed next Sabbath. Dimensions of the notebook - 5.5" x 8.5" inches.)

Until next time,
Scribble. Speak. From your soul.
