"May your pen inscribe what your heart longs to reveal, without the demand of performance or perfectionism." — A blessing by Pastor Angie
Sacred Words: A Workshop Invitation
SOULjourner, imagine we're sitting together, and I've placed a Mohawkmomma Studio gift set in your hands—where every carefully curated package arrives with a handwritten card, a sacred preview message waiting to be unwrapped.
Before you dive into the gift itself, there's a treasure to discover first: an intimate, hand-penned blessing that whispers to your wellbeing + wholeness, inviting you into a moment of soul care + connection.
This card is more than paper—it's a sacred invitation, a preview message bearing a handwritten blessing that pours forth the very heart of the giver.
We're not just writing a message in a card, we're planting seeds of shalom (wholeness, wellbeing, and peace). Each card a sacred blessing that acts like fertile ground to encourage flourishing in the recipient's heart.
Each word is a breath of life, each sentence a whispered prayer.
Let's pause here, in this moment, and lean into an invitation — a call to engage in the sacred art of the transformative power of writing a blessing in your next greeting card.
Are you ready to let your pen become an instrument of divine love?

The Biblical Roots of Blessing
In Scripture, blessings are more than wishes for material gain. They're invocations of divine presence, declarations of wholeness, wellbeing, and embrace from the Holy One.
When we bless, we participate in a holy act — speaking life + divine utterance over another's sacred journey.
Scripture offers profound words that paint a fuller picture of this holy act:
Barak - This is the blessing of reverent action. It's the word we see when God speaks life over creation in Genesis. When we use "barak," we're kneeling in holy awe, invoking divine favor.
Example: "May the Lord bless (barak) you with strength for the journey ahead."
Esher - This blessing speaks of a state of deep, abiding joy. It's not just happiness, but a profound sense of well-being that comes from walking in harmony with the Divine.
Example: "May you know the blessing (esher) of God's presence, a joy that sustains you through seasons of grief or gladness."
In the Greek, we encounter "makarios," echoing the essence of "esher."
When we offer a blessing, we're conduits weaving together both these sacred threads - the act of speaking abundance and the invitation to dwell in divine joy.
A blessing for penning your blessings: Let your words carry the weight of "barak" as you weave the thread of "esher" in creating a tapestry of grace for the recipient.

Speak Life, Shalom-Maker
When you scribble a blessing, you're participating in this ancient, sacred dialogue of divine love as a child of God + peacemaker "shalom-maker."
Peacemakers don't avoid conflict; they lean into the messy work of wholeness/wellbeing. In doing so, they reflect the image of the Creator.
Furthermore, to be called offspring of God is the highest honor, an intimate, nurturing relationship with the Divine. It's a recognition of the spiritual DNA — the shalom-making, wholeness-making nature of our Heavenly Father.
As you craft your blessings, remember, you're not just wishing well, you're speaking into someone's wellbeing. You're inviting others into this divine dance of embodying their wholeness, echoing the very heart of God.
