Trellis Tranquility Blessing (Gift): May you find peace in the sacred art of creating support for your humanity. May you discover that the frameworks you establish for your progress—be it boundaries, rhythmic routines, or relationships—serve not as constraints but as nurturing structures enabling your truest self to climb toward the light with grace.
Botanical Observation: In gardens, a trellis doesn't constrain a climbing plant—it offers direction + support for natural growth. The vine doesn't fight the structure; it uses it to reach heights impossible alone, wrapping around each crossbeam with instinctive wisdom about what serves its upward movement.
There is a profound intelligence in this partnership between plant + support system. The trellis holds steady while the vine moves dynamically, each supporting the other's purpose. What others might see as needing "too much structure" or "accommodation" is actually your brilliant brain recognizing what kind of trellis allows you + your gifts to flourish most fully.
Research shows us that executive function—our brain's ability to plan, focus, and manage tasks—works differently for neurodivergent minds. Creating external structures isn't about fixing something broken; it's about honoring your brain's unique architecture + building supports that let your natural capacities shine.
That detailed calendar, those sensory accommodations, those carefully crafted routines aren't crutches—they're the trellis that allows your authentic self to grow strong + reach toward your fullest potential.
Blessing in Hebrew: Berakah (beh-rah-KHAH) - literally means "to kneel." In ancient contexts, kneeling to present a gift symbolized offering something valuable with honor + humility. This imagery suggests that blessings flow from a heart posture of generosity + abundance.
Blessing in Ghanaian Twi: Nhyira (N-yih-RAH) - is both a noun + a verb, meaning "blessing" or "to bless." It is seen as a robust invocation of divine favor that brings prosperity, peace, joy, and hope to individuals + communities. Beyond personal wellbeing, the belief is that blessings are meant to be shared + multiplied within the community.
Reflection for Your Journey
SOULjourner,
Just as a vine doesn't apologize for needing a trellis but uses it to create something beautiful, you too can embrace the structures that support your unique way of being in the world.
In your personal tending, what supportive structures in your life currently help you thrive? (Think rhythmic routines/rituals, environments, relationships, tools, accommodations) Notice how these aren't limitations, they're the framework that allows you + your gifts to flourish.
In our collective soil, imagine communities that naturally provide trellis-like support for every member's growth. What if workplaces, schools, and relationships were designed with the understanding that we all have different ways of reaching our potential? Neuroinclusive spaces don't just accommodate difference—they create structures that allow every person's unique gifts to climb toward their fullest expression, creating gardens of belonging where diverse minds can flourish together.
Brain Health Awareness Month Benediction: May every blessing (berakhah / nhyira) flow freely—from reverence, from grace, from the deep well of God's generosity—reminding you that your brain + being are sacred gifts worthy of love + care every single day.
Amen + Asé ♡
