Take a deep breath and resolve to nurture yourself in this moment with something soul-soothing + grounding — a song, a walk, a sway, a sip, the simplicity of silence. You are loved and accepted. —Pastor Angie
SOULjourner,
If you're reading these words, know that your sensitive heart is welcome here. Perhaps you've felt the deep ache of being told you're "too much" or experienced the intense pain of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD).
Your feelings are valid, although they are not the whole picture.
Your experiences are real.
Your sensitivity is a gift.
A Truth About Being "Too"
When someone says you're "too sensitive," "too emotional," or "too much," remember this truth: That little word "too" often says more about their discomfort than your reality. Your depth of feeling isn't excessive—it's part of how you experience + navigate the world. There's no such thing as being "too alive" to your experiences or "too attuned" to God, yourself, and those around you.
Gentle Practices for Tender Hearts
For Daily Grounding
Start your day gently. Utter a prayer as you light a candle or find a quiet moment. Place your hand on your heart + breathe deeply. Remind yourself: "I am held in the Beloved, exactly as I am."
For RSD Moments
When rejection feelings arise, return to your body (your sacred temple):
Notice your feet on the ground
Feel your breath moving
Hold or rub something comforting
Speak gentle truths to yourself: "This feeling will pass", "Even here, I am whole"
For Community Connection
Find or create spaces where you can be fully yourself. One understanding friend is worth more than a thousand surface connections. Share when you're ready. Rest when you need to.

Peace Practices for Overwhelming or Challenging Moments
The Pause Practice
Stop. Breathe deeply through your nose. Name what you're feeling. No judgment, just noticing. Give yourself permission to step away and recenter in God's presence.
The Release + Receive Practice
Release - Let your feelings move through your body. Cry if you need to. Move your body gently. Scribble your heart out if it helps. Your emotions need no justification—they are part of how God created you.
Receive - Keep items nearby that help you receive solace in your sensitivity and regulate your nervous system. Create a soul care kit, often referred to as a "sensitivity toolkit," for comfort + support.
This collection of items should serve your unique preferences and needs, acting as gentle reminders of divine love and support.
