Propagation Peace Blessing (Gift): May you notice shalom in the sacred mystery of how new life emerges from what already exists within your inmost being. May you discover that your capacity to grow + create anew doesn't require you to become someone different—it simply asks you to nurture + embody what is already alive in your holy, beautiful being.
Botanical Observation: A single leaf snapped off from a succulent and placed in sandy soil can store water + grow an entire root system, becoming a thriving new plant. The cutting doesn't need to gather resources from outside itself—everything required for new life already exists within its cellular memory, waiting for the right conditions to unfold.
There is profound wisdom in this process of propagation. The parent plant shares its essence freely, and the cutting carries forward both the original DNA and the potential for entirely new growth patterns.
Your neurodivergent mind knows this regenerative truth intimately. Every time you've had to start over, rebuild, or find new ways of being in the world, you weren't starting from scratch—you were propagating from the strength that was always within you.
As an autistic soul, it always fascinates me to study what neuroscience reveals, that our brains maintain remarkable neuroplasticity throughout our lives, constantly creating new neural pathways while preserving essential core patterns.
When you learn new coping strategies, develop fresh perspectives, or discover different ways of processing the world, you're not erasing who you are—you're propagating from your divine DNA into new expressions of your inherent wholeness. That insight you've shown, that creativity in finding workarounds, that deep sensitivity that helps you attune to what others miss—these aren't new acquisitions but ancient wisdom propagating into present-moment growth.
Blessing in Hebrew: Berakah (beh-rah-KHAH) - literally means "to kneel." In ancient contexts, kneeling to present a gift symbolized offering something valuable with honor + humility. This imagery suggests that blessings flow from a heart posture of generosity + abundance.
Blessing in Ghanaian Twi: Nhyira (N-yih-RAH) - is both a noun + a verb, meaning "blessing" or "to bless." It is seen as a robust invocation of divine favor that brings prosperity, peace, joy, and hope to individuals + communities. Beyond personal wellbeing, the belief is that blessings are meant to be shared + multiplied within the community.
Reflection for Your Journey
SOULjourner,
Just as a cutting carries the essence of its parent plant while growing into something entirely new, you too can acknowledge what has always been true about God's life in you while allowing fresh expressions of peace through your gifts to emerge.
What essential qualities have remained constant throughout your life's changes + growth? These are your root systems—the core strengths that have propagated through every season of becoming.
In your personal tending, notice how your growth often happens not by adding something foreign but by creating conditions for what's already within you to flourish. Perhaps that creative project you've been avoiding already has roots in childhood fascinations. Maybe the boundaries you're learning to set are propagating from an ancient wisdom about what your soul needs to thrive. What wants to grow from the cutting of who you already are?
In our collective tending, imagine communities that understand how human flourishing happens through propagation rather than replacement. What if we believed that neurodivergent minds don't need to be "fixed" but rather sought after + supported in expressing (aka propagating) their intrinsic worth + gifts? When we create conditions where every person can grow from their childlike core, we cultivate gorgeous gardens of belonging where diverse ways of being emerge to enrich the whole community.
Collective "Propagation" Practices to Ponder
In Educational Settings:
A school that creates "innovation labs" where hyperfocused students can dive deep into interests while connecting them to curriculum goals, rather than forcing attention to scatter across subjects
Teachers who recognize that a student's need to fidget, pace, or doodle isn't disruptive behavior to eliminate but a learning style to accommodate with flexible seating and movement breaks
Universities offering alternative assessment methods (oral exams, project portfolios, extended time) that allow different minds to demonstrate knowledge in their strongest modalities
In Workplace Environments:
Companies actively recruiting autistic employees for roles requiring pattern recognition, attention to detail, and systematic thinking
Flexible work arrangements that honor different energy rhythms—allowing night owls to work evening shifts + sensory sensitive people to work remotely during overstimulating periods if needed
Teams that reflect partnerships where neurodiverse strengths propagate
In Healthcare Systems:
Medical practices offering sensory-friendly environments (dimmed lights, quiet spaces, weighted blankets) rather than expecting patients to tolerate overwhelming stimuli
Therapists trained in neurodivergent-affirming approaches that build on existing coping strategies rather than trying to make clients "neurotypical"
Hospitals with neurodivergent liaisons who help translate medical information into processing styles that work for different minds
In Public Spaces:
Libraries creating quiet zones alongside collaborative spaces, honoring both social + solitary learners
Recreation centers offering parallel activities (individual art stations during group craft time) so different social needs can coexist
Spiritual communities that welcome stimming, echolalia, and other neurodivergent expressions as authentic forms of spiritual participation
In Family Communities:
Parents who see their child's intense interests as gateways to learning rather than obsessions to limit
Neurodivergent parents, like myself who are nurtured + supported in meeting their own sensory needs—like the autistic mom who strings fairy lights throughout the house instead of harsh overhead lighting, uses lamps with low lumen bulbs, and wears headphones to regulate auditory input—creating homes where everyone benefits from gentler environments
Families that create predictable routines + transition warnings that help everyone (not just the neurodivergent members) feel more regulated
Extended families that recognize the gifts in their "difficult" members—the aunt whose bluntness becomes valued honesty, the cousin whose sensitivity becomes emotional wisdom
In Entrepreneurial/Vending Spaces:
Markets + festivals that offer quiet setup times for vendors who need to arrange their spaces without overwhelming stimuli
Business incubators that provide mentorship matching based on communication styles + processing preferences rather than one-size-fits-all networking events
Pop-up markets with designated sensory-friendly hours + flexible booth arrangements that accommodate different social comfort levels
Brain Health Awareness Month Benediction: May every blessing (berakhah / nhyira) flow freely—from reverence, from grace, from the deep well of God's generosity—reminding you that your brain + being are sacred gifts worthy of love + care every single day.
Amen + Asé ♡
