Shalom SOULjourners! This week we're in week three of Lent. Have you tuned in to the podcast series and downloaded the Lenten Devotional?
Lend yourself to lean into this week's Lent theme: we.
We are in a meditation series for the 40-days of Lent through the last day of Passover/The Feast of Unleavened Bread. Follow along and align your soul.
Together, Let's BLESS, BREATHE, and RELAX as we choose to fast from going fast.
WE - An Earnest Connection
"We" is an affirmation of unity, connection, and belonging. In this week's meditation, we will move as one body, one people who are earnestly connected in the Beloved. It's about the beauty and power of compound unity.
When I think of the beauty and power of compound unity, I think about how Jesus joins Himself to us, and then joins each of us to Himself, The Father, and The Spirit.
Unity is the expression of the ultimate home. A home that elevates oneness over individualism without mistaking unity for uniformity. Since unity welcomes each member to be themselves, each member has equal worth, even if they have different capabilities or capacity.
Therefore, let's boldly boast in and bless our "we."
BLESS - We
It's essential to know that a blessing is wild because it takes us through many twists and turns. It leads us where we would never imagine to go. Blessings make their own paths for us that spiral back to us when we need to receive them.
Blessings seek gather us in and show us how to move as one people, one body.
I want us to do an experiment as we go about the rest of our week. Let's replace the pronouns I and me with "we" and become aware of the empowerment of solidarity. Just see what happens as it helps you reframe they things you're engaging.
Follow the twists and turns of this blessing experiment.
BREATHE - Inhale Unity, Exhale Disunity
Breathe in unity and exhale disunity. Unity does not aim for sameness, it aims for sanctuary—a hospitable place that makes room for all sojourners who need a respite, a dwelling place of belonging.
Where there is connection, there's unity. Because you are created for unity, when disunity does occur within yourself or in your relationships, everything within you longs for oneness and cries out for it. Let this gravitational pull to oneness pull you in, especially when you want to pull away.
Breathe in unity. Name the places of unity that you observe. Name the places of unity that you long for. Then, choose to relax in a place of sanctuary that welcomes even the wild things of your life.
Inhale unity and exhale disunity, SOULjourner.
Let unity show you the way to embrace and seek out differences within yourself and with others, without demanding uniformity.
RELAX - In Sanctuary
Make space to foster and offer sanctuary for your thinking, connecting in relationships, and your feelings. Let them find a welcoming home.
