Kate Elizabeth

My name, "Kate" is from Kathryn; meaning pure. This embodies my heart to be part of the purifying process of the WEC culture and to purify my own life of white supremacy. I am my grandmother "Betty's" namesake, Elizabeth, who gave generously all that she had to serve her family and her community in the form of baked goods (sticky buns) from her kitchen. I married into a family with the last name, Kemp, meaning "warrior." This is embodied as I face difficulties in my personal life, raising a special needs daughter or having an autioimmune disease for example, not as things that stain my idenity but are the very places I draw into a deeper strength and love. I'm so looking forward to befriending others on this app and grateful for Angie's vision to share a space like this.
